Yesterday I attended the #seekingdreamers_mn Instameet, which was the biggest meet that I’ve ever been to. Organized by @minnstameets, which is run by my friends Jill Emmer (@shineonyoucraydiamond) and Rita Farmer (@mamacita.rita), this fantastic get-together was held at Vandalia Tower, and hosted by @firstandfirst.
I love attending Instameets because you get a chance to shoot and socialize with other creative people, seeing how their process works, and also getting to know them a little bit personally. Yesterday’s meet was filled with a lot of first-timers, and it was so great to meet some of them and chat about photography and creativity.
Normally I love to go all over and shoot at meets, but when I woke up yesterday morning I had the idea it would be fun to make portraits of IGers sitting in my little red chair. So I set up a photo station at the location and shot a number of IGers in front of a beautiful backdrop made by Katie Koster (@digsmpls). I photographed nearly 50 people but that was only about a quarter of the attendees; there just wasn’t enough time to get everyone, but maybe I can continue the project at future meet-ups.
