In early 2015, I was one of 17 Instagramers invited to shoot inside the Minneapolis Institute of Arts on a day that the museum was closed to the public. The #EmptyMIA project, part of the MIA’s year-long centennial celebration, was inspired by #EmptyMet, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which has received a lot of attention. It was really fun to roam through the empty galleries, looking for shots, and also to be there along with so many other creative people; a really great way to collaborate. The museum also produced a short video about the event. Thanks, MIA!
