Solo Show: Reset 2021
I’ve exhibited my work in many group shows, but this is the first time I’ve been invited by a museum to have my own show. The Minnesota Marine Art Museum asked me if they could create an exhibition drawing from Reset 2021, my year-long photo project. It was an amazing experience to work with their curators on the content of the show and programming that will be happening around it. The show opened January 7th, and runs until May 1, 2022. Once Omicron calms down a bit we’ll have some gallery tours where I’ll take people through the exhibit.
The museum also has an online exhibition of the 52 images that are in the show, available on their website. You can also watch my Instagram Story from the opening weekend to get a feel for what the exhibit looks like. Lastly, you can read about the genesis of the project and see photos from the project that aren’t in the exhibition over of the Reset project page.
The museum is well worth the trip. In addition to the two rotating galleries they have an impressive permanent collection of paintings inspired by the sea. There are a number of big names in their collection—Van Gogh, Picasso, Monet, Millet, Sisley—but some of my favorite paintings there are from artists I was less familiar with. If you can make it, you won’t be disappointed.
